Let’s be honest: between children going back to school, parents’ returning to work and the end of summer, there's nothing to cheer about. Don't panic, here is THE solution that will allow nature and camping lovers to extend their vacations a little longer !
To avoid the back-to-school blues, why don’t you build a teepee for the kids ? The camping spirit settles back in the house and will offer the little ones a hiding place where they can play and daydream. In addition to pleasing the children, it will bring a bohemian and trendy touch to your home.
When making your teepee, think about using recyclable materials! Make a fun and eco-friendly tutorial, for example by using old fabrics or sheets to make the roof of your teepee. It's a habit to get into, which is good for the planet.
Start by cutting 4 triangles from your fabric, following the measurements below (figure 1). Then in one of the triangles, make a 90cm opening in the middle, which will serve as the entrance to the teepee (figure 2).
Make an English stitch: take 2 triangles and sew the wrong sides together and edge to edge. Then put them right sides together and sew all along at 5 cm from the first seam.
You have just sewed the loop for the first stick.
Continue like this for the 3 other sides.
For the entrance, make a small hem.
Pass the sticks through the passers-by.
Make a hole in the top of the sticks and pass the rope through it to hold them together and solidify the structure.
Last but not least don't forget to decorate and personalize your teepee : fairy lights, dream catcher, old necklaces, etc... Finally, gather carpets, rugs and cushions to create a cozy corner inside. And that's it!
